Adopt-a-Spot in Baytown

When you join Baytown's Adopt-a-Spot program, you become a vital part of keeping Baytown clean and attractive. Plus, being an Adopter gives participants an opportunity to give back to the community, teach their children about community responsibility, receive positive publicity for their business, participate in a quarterly team-building activity, and gain valuable community volunteer experience.

Best for faith organizations, businesses, and clubs ages 15 and older. No special skills or experience are required – just dedicated volunteers with a commitment to the community and concern for the environment.


Group Responsibilities

  • 2 year commitment
  • 4 cleanups per year; at least 1 cleanup per quarter
  • Adhere to safety policies
  • Keep required forms up-to-date
  • Notify program coordinator at least 2 weeks before service day
  • Submit service report after each cleanup
  • Share your volunteer story at least 2 times a year on Baytown Serves

City of Baytown Responsibilities

  • Recognize volunteer impact
  • Order and place sign, available starting after the 2nd clean up
  • Communicate important location information
  • Provide supplies
  • Proper disposal of waste after service day

In recognition of these amazing volunteers, City of Baytown will put up a personalized Adopt-a-Spot sign within their adopted area. Volunteers will also be recognized on Baytown Engage, social media, and spotlighted in our newsletters.

    Goose Creek Memorial's French Honor Society recently joined the Adopt-a-Spot program and celebrated with their first cleanup on November 12th! They picked up 4 bags of trash along a section of the Goose Creek Trail.

    Harris County Insurance completed their first Adopt-a-Spot program on November 4th along Rollingbrook! They gathered 9 bags of litter from Garth Rd to N Main. They even found a full Kuerig Coffee Machine!

    Community members from the Lakewood neighborhood recently adopted Bayway Drive! They did their first cleanup on October 22nd and gathered 10 bags of trash from the roadway. When asked they they joined Adopt-a-Spot, neighbor Jennifer said, "to encourage others to volunteer and help keep our area clean". Thank you for joining and supporting our nature resources!

    On Saturday, September 24th, the Baytown Lions Club completed their third Adopt-a-Spot cleanup! They gathered 3 large bags of litter around Blue Heron Park and Blue Heron Parkway. Thank you for your continued support and for helping to better Baytown!

    A team from Covestro gathered litter throughout Holloway Park on Friday, September 9, 2022. They were even joined by a few special guests - Council member Jacob Powell and his two kids!

    When asked why they joined the Adopt-a-Spot program they said, "Covestro has a long-standing partnership with the City of Baytown that dates back even to our Bayer and Mobay days, and our employees are passionate about giving back to the city/community that Covestro operates in. We were particularly excited about the Adopt-a-Spot opportunity with J.C. Holloway Park due to its proximity to our site, and the fact that Cary Bayou feeds into Cedar Bayou, which feeds into our fence line."

    Trans-Global Solutions completed their third cleanup at Roseland Park on Friday, September 16th. They collected 4 bags of trash. They noticed the park is a popular place for gender reveals. Although the confetti makes for a fun surprise, it's so difficult to cleanup!

    The environmental club at IMPACT completed their second cleanup at Bicentennial Park on Saturday, September 17th! They had 27 volunteers participate and picked up 6 bags of trash throughout the park. They celebrated their second cleanup with a brand new sign!
