Bayway Drive Corridor Plan
This Bayway Drive Corridor Plan is completed and can be found here. Thank you to everyone who participated and made the project a success!
What is the Bayway Drive Corridor Plan?
Bayway Drive was once a thriving corridor boasting new homes and modern retail centers, but as Baytown grew new developments were constructed to the East. Soon, existing businesses relocated to new commercial districts or closed which left vacant structures and properties along the corridor. The Bayway Drive Corridor Plan will examine the current condition of the corridor and identify opportunities to revitalize and beautify the Bayway Drive corridor. The Corridor Plan will serve as a guide for community leaders by identifying opportunities to draw new investment, users, and visitors to the area, identify ways to increase pedestrian and bicycle mobility along the corridor, and identify how to re-purpose underused public right-of-way. A critical component of this Corridor Plan is the development of a Capital Improvement and Action Plan with catalyst projects to help spur change in the corridor. To ensure the plan embodies the community’s vision, the Bayway Plan Stakeholder Committee (BPSC) oversee the project. This committee is comprised of nine key stakeholders representing residents, business, civic institutions, and industry.
