The Perfect Trail System project serves as a pilot program to bring safety, ease of use, and consistency to all City of Baytown parks. If this pilot program is successful, the city would like to expand it to other parks around town. The city wants to receive feedback from park users on what is working with this program and what is not. It's vital we hear from the community members who are utilizing the trail system, so we can make the Perfect Trail program fits the needs of our community.

WHAT are the project improvements: Trailheads, maps, and wayfinders will be installed to allow ease of use within the park. Park namesakes and interpretive signs will be installed to tell the stories behind applicable park elements. LED lights, solar & wind powered lights, 911 trail markers, and security cameras will be installed to improve safety within the park.

WHY is the project needed: The purpose of this project is to address and alleviate safety concerns within the park during the nighttime operating hours. This project is needed to aid residents, police, and the Parks and Recreation Department in monitoring activity by installing improved safety measures.

HOW LONG will the project take: The installation of the Perfect Trail System started in September 2021 and is scheduled for completion in late Summer 2022.
