What is the Baytown Police Strategic Plan?

The Baytown Police Strategic Plan will serve as the department's blueprint for elevating trust and mutual respect between the Baytown Police Department and Baytonians. This is the first time the Baytown Police Department has undertaken a strategic plan. This 5-year community based strategic plan will bring together residents, community leaders, neighborhoods, businesses, city council and other stakeholders in the development of a vision and direction for the Baytown Police Department. These shared values will be compiled into the strategic plan. Your feedback is extremely important so we are providing a variety of ways for you to contribute to the conversation both virtually and in-person. All stakeholders are invited to participate through surveys, polls, focus groups, workshops, interviews and open meetings.

The first series of community engagement activities have concluded.

Three focus groups were with the Downtown Arts and Entertainment District business owners, students participating in the Thomas Institute of Excellence 'TIE" with Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District, and the Glen Meadows Neighborhood Association. During these focus groups, participants described what they believe is going well in the Baytown Police Department and what they would like to see change.
