Baytown's Public Art Program began in 2017. The program is intended to build emotional connections between residents of Baytown with their community, building on the mantra “love where you live.” Overseeing the program is the Public Art Visioning Committee comprised of members from the City of Baytown, Art League of Baytown, and the Lee College Art Department.   • Storm Drain Art: Featuring Kevin Trejo

    Kevin is a lifelong resident of Baytown who takes inspiration from Banksy, the mysterious English street artist who produced a series of works in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Kevin's favorite medium is paint, and he strives to make the world more beautiful. He has been a participant in Via Colori and a finalist for the Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Competition.

    Magdalena Esparza is an enthusiastic artist and color aficionado. In the past four years, she has been participating in the famous Via Colori, a chalk murals event on the streets of downtown Houston. In her Monkey Way Studio, she designs and creates cartoon illustrations in digital format and acrylic paintings. Right now, she is publishing her first coloring book from the collection Paint & Learn called Quien Vive en Chile? (Who live in Chile?) A new book concept to teach children about the origins of Chile and their native ethnic groups. Her drive has always been to motivate everybody to be an artist as her, as she believes that creativity is a habit. Instagram: @magdance
